Talking point # 10 Education is politics

I believe that it is true and education is politics.  Lets face it, it is sad but everything in our society is based on how much it will cost.  Which is really sad. At most schools and school districts they provide the money for the things that will cost the school less money, and have the tax payers pay more money, even if it does not fully benefit the students, it costs them less money so that is all that they care about.  Just like the government, the government will do anything to save a couple pennies regardless of the results, it is very sad.

I believe that this is correct. In some ways there are positive things about the education system.  Curriculum is both a positive and a negative thing.  On one aspect it helps make sure that the students learn a plethora of information, but on the negative side of it it minimizes how much information about certain topics they are going to learn AND they are forced to learn about certain things.  Students should be able to learn what strongly interests them, and also have to learn required material that will benefit their minds in the future.  This is the tough part of deciding what should be learned.  Over time the material should be updated because some of the books and novels that students are reading now are so outdated that it is not benefited their education.  The books should be updated to ones that are more recent so that students benefit from them more but at the same time provide them with excellent information.

This is a very accurate quote.  Teachers are all of those things, which is great.  I can not wait to be a teacher to do all of those things in the future.
